We have received some requests from the Aurora Fossil Museum to assist with their upcoming museum events in the coming months. As a way to partner with the Aurora Fossil Museum, participating in these events and assisting the AFM as a representative of the NCFC will count towards outreach for our organization as well, so it could be a fun way to get started with some basic outreach type events predominantly in the eastern part of the state!
The events / locations are as-follows (Exact times are not currently known, if interested please contact the museum):
- Museum Volunteer Day at the Aurora Fossil Museum - September 12th, 2026
- This will be a day where volunteers would help with miscellaneous tasks the museum needs to remain operational (cleanup, ect).
- National Fossil Day at the Aurora Fossil Museum - October 24th, 2025
- This is one of the museum’s biggest events outside of the North Carolina Fossil Festival, and volunteers can be used in a number of areas.
