Outreach Opportunity - New Hope Elementary STEAM Night (Chapel Hill)

We’ve received the following Outreach Request:

New Hope Elementary School

1900 New Hope Church Rd

Chapel Hill, NC 27514

New Hope Elementary has once again asked the NCFC to participate in their annual STEAM night, where students, their families and the community can come together and experience hands-on experiences and displays of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Several of our members have assisted with this event in past years, and the event draws in a large crowd (500+), so it is a wonderful opportunity to reach a large number of folks in Orange County. The event is on Thursday, April 23rd from 5 PM to 7 PM, with set-up starting at 4 PM. If any members are interested in participating but are uncertain of the specifics, some of our veteran members may be able to give advice based on their past experiences with the event.

A very important note on this outreach: the Outreach Coordinator will need to sign-up the club through an online form prior to the event. This means any volunteer(s) willing to assist with this outreach must be certain they can attend this event before the club can be signed-up. Once volunteers have been found, the Outreach Coordinator will sign up the club and the volunteers will be put into contact with the organizer.

Any members interested in this Outreach opportunity, please contact Tony Shaver before April 1st at <outreach@ncfossilclub.org>.

Thanks!

-Tony

Hey all,

An update to this request, the school has informed me that they will have plenty of tables available and there is potential for the NCFC to have an entire classroom if a lot of folks want to display, so please give some extra consideration to assisting with this outreach opportunity! Contact me ASAP if you would like to help.
