The North Carolina Fossil Club is offering Paleontological research grants between $250 and $1000. Applications are due April 30, 2026. These grants will be awarded in late May, 2026. The recipient(s) will be notified by email with details on how they will be receiving their funding.
Anyone doing research in the United States is eligible to apply for these grants. Students of North Carolina based Universities and Colleges and/or doing research related to North Carolina paleontology will receive special consideration.
All recipients will be required to provide updates at regular intervals and MUST agree to present their completed project at a meeting of the NCFC to the membership. Presentations can be virtual if needed.
The application process is simple: complete an application form and attach a page with a one paragraph biography and an additional page with a description of the project. All information provided will be held in strict confidence by all members of the grant committee and NCFC Board Members.
Funds should be used for original research projects related to paleontology, and cannot be used for tuition/educational costs, indirect costs and institutional administrative fees, or salaries.
