# Using NCFC Explore on your mobile device

The North Carolina Fossil Club Explore forum is designed for both computers and mobile devices. To get the most out of it on a mobile device, we recommend saving it to your phone or tablet as its own app.

Why?

1. It’s easy to do
2. You can add an icon for the site to your device’s home screen
3. You can receive notifications from the site, so you stay up to date on all the conversations

## To add this site to your Android device:

1. Open the Chrome browser on your Android device and navigate to [explore.ncfossilclub.org](https://explore.ncfossilclub.org)

2. Tap the three-dot menu icon :three_dot: at the top right corner of the screen

3. Tap **Add to Home screen**

4. Confirm by tapping **Install**

Now you’ll find a new app in your App Drawer called “NC Fossil”.

To configure notifications:

1. Tap the NCFC icon to launch your new app
2. Log in
3. At the top of the screen you’ll be asked if you want live notifications
4. Tap **Enable Notifications**
5. Tap **Allow**

## To add this site to your iOS device:

1. Open Safari
2. Navigate to [explore.ncfossilclub.org](https://explore.ncfossilclub.org)
3. Tap the **share icon** (the square with the arrow pointing up)
4. Scroll to then tap **Add to Home Screen**
5. Tap **Add**
6. You’ll see a new app icon

To configure notifications:

1. Launch your new app
2. Log in
3. At the top of the screen you’ll be asked if you want live notifications
4. Tap **Enable Notifications**
5. Tap **Allow**
